I loved working in the kitchen with Gert, from whom I also learned a lot, like how to manage a staff with humor, authority, and love. And the memories you evoke. Iyeva with her Ball U. T-shirt, chess pie, and I remember her icing with chocolate frosting a "sponge cake" made of actual sponges (of the actual yellow kitchen cleaning type) as a joke present for one the staff. Many life lessons learned. A few tornadoes and some in-the-kitchen storms. Survived the move from the old chadar (Bet Am) to the new kitchen, even though the roast beef had to be cooked in the old ovens and driven to the new chadar.
Best chess pie ever!!
Zichronah livracha. Anyone who was there during her multiple decade tenure, knows how important she was to the camp community. In a world that today is so divided by groups and factions, it is nice to hear that her family too cherished the UCI/GUCI connection. She will be missed and your kind words are much deserved tribute to a true VIP in (G)UCI history.

Daniel NestelAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1236908108770510670.post-81058152284830092322018-11-10T19:17:51.075-05:002018-11-10T19:17:51.075-05:00such a fine woman through and through. such a fine woman through and through. miriamamon@rogers.comnoreply@blogger.com
